Appraiser Marketing System – Cash in with the Internet

posted in Appraiser Marketing |

Hi Again!

I am going to cover some information on how to get an existing website to rank better in the search engines. There are a lot of factors when it comes to your website properly showing up at the top of search results. We will start with the basics and move on to the harder stuff sometime in the future.

If you still don’t have a website, I guess I can’t convince you. But you really need one if you want to get estate orders. Estate orders are the best, but you won’t get them unless you can be found on the internet. Visit http://www.appraiserwebsites.net and get an optimized website TODAY!

Some of the top factors positively influencing your search engine placement are:

1. Keyword use in the Title Tag
2. Anchor Text of Inbound Link Anchor Text
3. Global Link Popularity of Site – how many sites link to you
4. Age of Site – when first published with a website
5. Link Popularity within the Site’s Internal Link Structure refers to the number and importance of internal links pointing to the target page.
6. Topical Relevance of Inbound Links to Site is the subject-specific relationship between the sites/pages linking to the target page and the target keyword.
7. Link Popularity of Site in Topical Community is the link weight/authority of the target website amongst its topical peers in the online world.
8. Keyword Use in Body Text – the use of your primary keywords in the text throughout the primary text in your website.
9. Global Link Popularity of the linking website.  The more popular the website, the better.  For example, even though DMOZ.org is not industry specific overall, getting a link there helps your website because of its global link popularity. A directory listing in Yahoo would be good as well.
10. Topical Relationship of Linking website refers to getting links from industry specific websites or those publishing similar information.

Top Negative factors that hurt your search engine placement:

1. Server Often Inaccessible. Bad website hosting.
2. Content Very Similar or Duplicated. Never duplicate your content within your website or steal information off of another website.
3. External Links to Low Quality/Spam Sites – don’t link to trashy or unrelated websites.
4. Participation in Link Schemes or Actively Selling Links – just don’t do it.
5. Duplicate Title/Meta Tags on Many Pages. Take the time to change these on each of your pages.

If you are going to build your own website manually, you will need to become familiar on how to change your website design and get the proper inbound links to influence your ranking.  If you would prefer to leave this to the professionals, get your website hosted and search engine optimized at  http://www.appraiserwebsites.net.  It is really easy to set up a highly search engine optimized website with back links from other popular appraisal related websites.  You will also get a list of free directories and paid directories that will positively affect your search engine results.

Find free directories to market your appraisal services in your area. Directories will include finance, estate service providers, divorce resources, appraiser directories, Craigslist.org, etc.

Search in Google, MSN and Yahoo to find out who your competition is, where you rank and where you can get listed. I frequently search for ‘San Diego Appraisal’ and ‘San Diego Appraiser’ to see where I show up in the search engine rankings. Look through the top 20 results with each search engine and when a directory shows up, you should get listed on it.

That will give you a good place to start with. If you have any questions on this post, please leave a comment below and I will give you an answer you immediately!

Thanks!
