No, I am not going over to the dark side!
I thought it would be a good idea to expand my real estate knowledge and decided to get a real estate broker license. You never know what will happen in the appraisal industry and I always like to have a plan B whenever possible.
I know there are a lot of appraiser / brokers out there, so I would really appreciate any tips and advice from other appraiser brokers that have experience selling real estate.
I got in to real estate appraisal initially to learn more about real estate and thought this would be a great step to continue learning. The education alone gave me a lot of information that I apply to my appraisal business as well.
But I wanted to let all my fellow appraisers know that I have no plans on ever leaving the real estate appraisal industry. It is a job I love too much.
If you have passions that can bring in additional income to take the stress away from getting enough appraisal work to cover your monthly bills, now is a good time to make a plan B while continuing to build up your appraisal business. I have a number of eggs and I never keep them in the same basket. I have done that far to many times in the past and have a lot of gray hair because of it!
I thought I would share this with the rest of you, and if you have any tips or advice, I would love to hear it!
