It has been a while since my last podcast, so I just thought I would check in and share a little information on a new project I am working on with another appraiser down here in Southern California.
We met over coffee a while back and really hit it off. I was completely blown away by his techniques on getting estate work and he brings in enough work to keep himself and his entire staff busy.
This guy is so busy he is working 16 hour days! Non-stop, around the clock appraisal work. He really had it down and has over 20 years experience running an appraisal business.
He once had the largest appraisal company in Southern California.
I have been doing the best ever and have found a good number of appraisal management companies to work with, but if I had 100% estate work and was flooded with it, I could see how it would take my business to a whole new level.

In this episode I talk a little about how busy I have been doing appraisals. It really seems to be out of control right now in San Diego with the majority of work for refinance work.
I am also doing quite a bit of estate work that I get off of my appraiser website. I believe some tax laws have recently changed so I have been doing quite a bit of multi-property estate appraisals as well as some very high end properties.
The biggest tip I have here is that you should counter offer ALL appraisals that you do not feel you are getting enough to complete. I have found that I am making much more money and doing far less work on appraisals that might have paid less in the past.
Please give it a try, I am sure you will be happy with your results as long as you are working with a number of appraisal management companies.

There are numerous places you can go to get your appraisal business listed. I decided for my 5th appraiser podcast to list some of the primary ones I use.
The more marketing you can do for your business, the more orders you will get. Also, by submitting your website information whenever possible, it will greatly increase your chances of your website showing up on the first page of google results, which is what you should aspire for!
