DENVER (July 22, 2019) – More than 525 real estate professionals from around the world today attended the opening session of the valuation profession’s most important annual event, hosted by the Appraisal Institute, the nation’s largest professional association of real estate appraisers.
The 2019 Appraisal Institute Annual Conference, being held at the downtown Hyatt Regency Denver today through Wednesday, features world-renowned keynote speakers, 30 breakout sessions on trend-setting valuation topics, networking opportunities for industry professionals, an exhibit hall featuring cutting-edge products and services and an awards ceremony honoring the valuation profession’s best and brightest.
“The Appraisal Institute’s Annual Conference is an indispensable event for appraisers and other real estate industry professionals to learn about the most important subjects, make valuable connections and catch up on latest trends,” said Appraisal Institute President Stephen S. Wagner, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS. “Each year, we’re proud to host the leaders of our profession from across the country and around the world at our biggest event of the year.”
The keynote speaker at this year’s event is entrepreneur, celebrated artist and executive coach Allison Massari. The survivor of two life-threatening car crashes, severe burns and a traumatic head injury, her message is focused on showing audiences how to find peace, purpose and happiness, and giving them the tools they need to rise above any obstacle.
The 2019 Appraisal Institute Annual Conference’s breakout session topics include cannabis and real estate, federal property valuation, rural housing, big box valuation and condemnation for pipeline and utility easements.
Event attendees will have abundant networking opportunities, including a reception at Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies. A networking dinner and reception will feature dancing to music performed by a band of Appraisal Institute professionals. An awards ceremony will honor about a dozen noteworthy appraisers and other experts. Some attendees participated in a pre-conference golf tournament Saturday at Fossil Trace Golf Club, with a course designed by renowned golf course architect Jim Engh.
Attendees also will be able to explore Denver’s thriving cultural scene, diverse neighborhoods and natural beauty. Denver enjoys 300 days of sunshine annually and offers views from downtown of 120 miles of mountains. Ranked as Zagat’s fourth most exciting food city in the U.S., Denver will offer attendees 70 breweries within city limits, in addition to local distilleries and wineries, and a plethora of diverse, cutting edge dining options.
The event site, the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, is located in the heart of downtown Denver and offers easy access to a wide selection of arts, entertainment, shopping and other attractions, including the 16th Street Mall.
