Those are some infamous words from Charlie Sheen. We all need to win from time to time.
On a more serious note, I have had probably the slowest week in the past 3 years last week. I was seriously wondering what was going down, but I think it has been a little slow across the country.
Luckily I picked up a couple estate appraisal orders over the weekend. Now is a great time to focus on getting internet orders for estate, date of death, divorce and bankruptcy.
But the only way you are going to get those orders is to have a top ranking website. If you would like more information on getting a top ranking website, visit http://www.appraiserwebsites.net. If you have an Xsite, I suggest you keep it because they are pretty, but start over fresh with a keyword targeted website and domain name.
I also got a 3 appraisal management company orders this morning. So it looks like my week is picking up. If you are still slow, appraisal management company work is the fastest way to increase your business. Your are going to have to weed through the low free appraisal management companies, but my list of over 300 appraisal management companies will make that job a whole lot easier. The top 40 companies on the list send me over 95% of my appraisal management company work. If you sign up to at least those top 40, you should be good to go.
Again, annually and with every license or E&O update, make sure you contact all the AMCs you have worked with in the past and make sure your profile is updated. Most won’t contact you when you have expired information and your profile will be suspended for future work.
If anyone has any good feedback or AMCs they are currently working with, please comment on this post. We all would love to hear from you. Of course if you have any deadbeat information, please post that as well! I personally contact the appraisal management companies and will attempt to resolve the issues. Sometimes all it takes is a few calls from concerned appraisers to send an AMC on the right path. There is no hope for the low fee AMCs unfortunately. Hopefully by being involved with a regional appraiser coalition, we will make some changes, but only time will tell. Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines and hope for the best.
