Appraiserloft – $3M in unpaid appraiser fees

Hopefully you were not one of the thousands of appraisers stuck with unpaid invoices from AppraiserLoft after they unexpectedly closed their doors without any notice or explanation.

According to HousingWire, some feel that appraisers should go after the lender to recoup appraisal fees that might have already been paid out to AppraiserLoft.

I know on my message board we have come up with a few ideas from going after the homeowner who will in turn pressure their mortgage brokers and lenders. Others have suggested going after the bond issued in the state the AMC was required to provide appraisal management services.

After receiving numerous calls for help from fellow appraisers, I have posted a few different articles on my blog about this issue. If you need assistance, please read the posts as well as the comments from other appraisers stuck in this situation.

Hopefully we can work together to get this resolved and appraisal invoices paid.

Good luck out there! Make sure to listen to my recent podcasts as well!

Customary & Reasonable : enforcement 3 to 4 years away?

It sounds like we are in another waiting game regarding customary & reasonable fees as noted in Dodd-Frank.

Key Notes:
* The minimal timeline set forth in the Dodd-Frank Act indicates that those rules may be promulgated within 18 months of July 21, 2011.

* After the rules are in final form, States have 36 months to implement the minimum requirements established by the rules for registration and supervision of AMCs. (The ASC may grant States up to a 12-month extension, subject to specific limited conditions set forth in the Dodd-Frank Act.)

Please read the entire article below:

The only thing I’m addicted to right now is winning.

Those are some infamous words from Charlie Sheen. We all need to win from time to time.

On a more serious note, I have had probably the slowest week in the past 3 years last week. I was seriously wondering what was going down, but I think it has been a little slow across the country.

Luckily I picked up a couple estate appraisal orders over the weekend. Now is a great time to focus on getting internet orders for estate, date of death, divorce and bankruptcy.

Thank you for Signing Up!

Thank you for signing up to the Appraiser Marketing System!

You are going to be really glad you did. I really can almost guarantee if you follow the steps that I outline, you will definitely make more money as a real estate appraiser. I have been using these techniques for years, as well as adding a some new ones when it comes to getting the most out of the Appraisal Management Companies.

This system will teach you how to successfully market your Appraisal Business to get more appraisal management offers from multiple AMCs and give you the ability to cherry pick the best assignments.

You will also learn how to get the cream of the crop, estate orders, and hopefully give you the ability to be less reliant on AMC work, possibly moving completely away from the AMCs if there is enough estate work in your area. All it takes is 1 good client to provide tons of estate orders!

I originally tried to make my system available 100% via Email notifications, but this became a problem due to the length of the emails. I also wanted the ability for people to ask questions or to share their experiences. So when you get an email from me, you will eventually need to click on a link which will take you to this website to finish the lesson for that day.

I always want to help out, so if you have any immediate questions, please post it below!  I will answer them as soon as possible.

Thanks again for joining and I will email you within the next week with the start of the Appraiser Marketing System!

If you need work today, please check out my AMC Directory or No-More Middlemen : Non-Lender Marketing Directory.  You can get a great deal when you buy them both inside of the Appraiser Income Store.

Appraisal Management Company Questions

Wow, it has been a really slow month so far, but I am still getting quite a bit of requests per week for appraisal assignments and I am completing between 5-10 reports a week. My market is fairly big with over 1M in the city of San Diego and over 3M county wide.

Things should start picking up and be going full force by March according to the top appraisal management companies.

A little bit about me – Bryan Knowlton

Hello Fellow Appraisers!

I thought I would take a little time and post a little information about myself and the situation I was in when I decided to put together my list of appraisal management companies.

Hopefully you are not in the same boat as I was in only a few years ago. Well, the HVCC went in to full affect and at the time I wasn’t doing ANY work for the AMCs. I also had the bright idea of moving from San Diego to Arizona, thinking I could live on less money and have a better lifestyle.
